TERRADIX® Snailfence

No more snails in the bed at last!
Finally a solution that really works: Effective slug protection with the electric slug fence from TERRADIX. The electric slug fence offers a reliable and completely poison-free solution to permanently protect your vegetables from slugs. The electrically conductive fence tape reliably causes slugs to turn back on contact. Installation is child’s play. The self-adhesive tape is simply attached to the raised bed, frame bed, bed edging, etc. and connected to the battery-operated power unit using a click system. This sends a minimal voltage pulse into the fence tape every two seconds. If a snail tries to cross it, the snail closes the circuit and immediately flinches. The current is so low that it is neither perceptible nor harmful to humans or other animals. The snail also remains unharmed. It usually tries a second or third time and then grumpily turns back.

Important for safe operation:

– The fence tape must seal securely all around. There must be no gaps through which the snails can bypass the tape (e.g. gaps in the wooden raised bed, dimpled foil, etc.).
– The fence tape must be installed on the outside of the bed (snails must crawl upwards).
– Check the fence tape regularly for proper function (see operating instructions). – It is possible that there are still slugs inside a fenced area. Collect these at the beginning. It is best to place a piece of board on the ground. The snails like to use it during the day to protect themselves from drying out. You can then simply collect them upside down.
